The Centre went live in 2004, initially with no outpatient facility.  One clinic was then set up for one of the Consultants, which required office space being converted into a clinic room.

This evolved to the current day, where there are now 30 consultants holding clinics at SWLEOC, as well as Registrar and Fellow clinics. Previously, there wasn’t a medical records department as notes were prepared by the scheduling team.  Now there is a dedicated medical records area supported by Clerks.

We have implemented two CT-guided injection clinics in the wrist & hand and foot & ankle sub-specialities according to the Right Place Right Procedure initiative, removing injections from a theatre environment and improving capacity.

One stop POA clinics have been added to the wrist & hand and foot & ankle sub-specialities.
