Sterile services

The Centre has an offsite decontamination service, who are responsible for the decontamination of surgical instruments on a sessional basis. These sessions operate in the morning, afternoon, and evening, seven days a week with deliveries and collections by the offsite transport.

The provider is responsible for the:

• receipt, collection, cleaning, weighing and initial inspection, disinfection and sterilisation of used instruments and medical equipment;
• completion of post disinfection inspection and functional testing;
• delivery of all sterilised sets to the Centre;
• disposal of damaged instruments.
